'Tis the season of gift giving! With MANY Holidays right around the corner such as Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Christmas, etc... the girls & I would like to see your best Holiday decorated gift box/bag made from a template for that special someone!

You don't need to own a template to play, here are a few links with FREE templates: Splitcoast Stampers and Papertrey Ink.

How to Play: You need to upload your project using this week's challenge to your online blog or public photo gallery. Leave a link that goes directly to your project in the Mr. Linky form at the bottom of this post. If you upload to online galleries, please also use the keyword or tag, JUGS9. After you post to Mr. Linky, you can also leave us a comment here.

Deadline to be considered for "Chic of the Week" will be 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, December 3rd. Our top pick "Chic of the Week" will be announced on Friday morning following the deadline. Chic of the Week #8

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Did you do any shopping today and get any great deals? Not me...I hate shopping in crowds!

Well I must say that sifting through the 45 entries was a bit daunting! I checked out each and every entry and I just love how you all incorporated my colors in your creations. I was happy to see that many of you loved the combo and that I also challenged a lot of you! But in the end, there can only be one Chic of the Week, and that person is

There was something about Kathryn's card that grabbed me. The colors were so vibrant and the flowers were fabulous (and all that cutting was amazing). The attention to detail was spot on! Just Us Girls Week 8 - Color Challenge!

Welcome to Week 8 (already?) of challenges here at Just Us Girls! I was looking at our followers count and was so surprised and pleased to see 213 followers! You like us, you really like us! (I'm channeling Sally Field's Oscar acceptance speech!) We have literally been blown away by all your fabulous entries!

I'm very pleased to present our color challenge for this week. Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I thought I'd give you colors we typically see, but with a fresh twist. I chose Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, and Bashful Blue. The blue really pops against these colors. I'm only using SU colors as a reference...if you do not have them, don't worry. Just match the colors you have closest to these. And since we are in the season of thanks, we'd like for you to make your card reflect that sentiment.

Chic of the Week #7

WOW!

So now I know what all the other girls have felt like each week!  You ladies have made it awful rough on me to pick a winner for chic of the week, but I must say a big heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out and participated in our challenge this week.  I've had a blast looking through all of the entries (trying to finish commenting too - getting there!) There were a few that I kept going back to, again and again, and I had it narrowed down to 2...and then finally decided that

Just Us Girls Week 7 - Technique Challenge!

Welcome to week 7 here at the Just Us Girls Challenge!  I'm excited to be hosting my first challenge this week, and I really hope you will all come and play along.

I thought long and hard about what I would give as a challenge, and I decided to go back to basics.  Dry Embossing.  Break out those brass stencils and your light box, your cuttlebug, folders and nesties, and show us what YOU can do!

I've added a twist to the challenge...you see, today is DANA'S BIRTHDAY!!!  So, although Dana was under the impression that today's challenge was with a twist of 'thanks' the REAL twist is to make your project for a Birthday!

CHIC OF THE WEEK #6

It's that time of the week again for the announcement of our Chic of the Week.

Can you believe it's our 6th week!! I'm so happy to see such fantastic participation in our challenges, it's been a blast seeing all the fabulous creations each week. Thanks to all who participate and I hope that you will continue to come back each week for more fun.

Picking our Chic of the Week is never an easy task everyone has some fantastic stuff. My choice this week for the Just Us Girls Chic of the Week goes to Chupa and her "Crazy for Mittens" creations. Congrats Chupa and fantastic job.

A Special JUGs Charity Challenge

The Just Us Girls team has a special challenge for you (in addition to the current one and a new one we'll have for you on Saturday). This one is to raise money for a family that you may or may not have heard about. One of our fellow stampers in our very charitable stamping community suddenly lost her son last week. Henry Anderson was only three years old, suddenly became ill, and passed away. It is still uncertain what the cause of his death was.

My friend, and owner of Paper Makuep Stamps, Katie Cotton, was an online friend of Henry's mom, Sarah Anderson. Katie is a mom of two boys herself and a very generous person. One of the new releases from Paper Makeup Stamps is a cute little boy fairy making a snow angel in the snow. Katie named him Henry in honor of Sarah's son and is offering the image as a digital image. The cost of the image is a mere $3.00, and the proceeds will go to the Anderson family.

I asked the JUGs team if they would be willing to do a special charity challenge in the hopes of getting the word out about this to raise more money for the family. They were all very excited about doing it! I also asked Katie if she would be our guest designer, and she agreed as well.

So, our challenge is this: Go to the Paper Makeup Stamps website and purchase Henry the Snow Angel digital image (you'll see it right under the Categories section on top). Then create a card using the image and post a direct link to your card to Mr. Linky here on the JUGs blog. We will randomly choose a card and the winner will get a $15 shopping spree to Paper Makeup Stamps. You will have until Wednesday, November 18 at midnight CST to post your creation in order to qualify. We will post the winner here on Thursday, November 19.
