This week I am challenging everyone to try burnt edged fabric flowers. Now, challenge requirements....try the burnt edge technique and make a fabric flower with that technique. The resulting flower can be used on anything you like....a card, a scrap page, decor, fashion, etc.... Here is a great link to a tutorial by Simply Vintage Girl to help you get started. I'd like to note that Simply Vintage Girl uses silk for her gorgeous flower...but other types of fabric work well too and produce varied effects. Also, despite the fact we are all grown ups here, the mother in me wants to send out a warning of "be careful" ;) This involves flame and fabric so working on a heat proof surface is important, keeping hands away from the flame, maybe some ventilation is a good idea, ya know, be safe!
If burning fabric sends chills down your spine (and not the fun Halloween kind!) then you can show up to the challenge with your best fabric flower offering. The key word here is fabric OK?
Here is some amazing inspiration from the Just Us Girls DT:

How to play: You need to upload your project for this week's challenge to your online blog or public photo gallery. Leave a link that goes directly to your project in the Inlinkz form at the bottom of this post. If you upload to online galleries, please also use the keyword or tag, JUGS57. After you post to Inlinkz you can also leave a comment here if you'd like.
Deadline to be considered for the weekly "Chic of the Week" is 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, November 4. The Inlinkz form will close at that time. Our top pick "Chic of the Week" will be announced on the following Friday morning.
Before I send you on your way to burning fabric, there is another kind of burning going on...the BIRTHDAY CANDLE kind!!! Our talented and sweeter than sweet KRISTIN is celebrating her birthday this week and on behalf of all the JUGs girls out there, Happy, HAPPY Birthday to our dear Kristin! I hope it is a great one girlfriend!
