Chic of the Week #68

Hello JUGs fans! We had another momentous event occur this week at Just Us Girls once again...we've reached the 800 follower mark! We here at Just Us Girls are so blown over by everyone's attention to our little challenge blog! Now we can't wait for the 1,000 mark!

I had a very difficult time this week once again choosing just one Chic of the Week! You crafters are making this very difficult for the JUGs DT to do each week! But alas, we can only choose just one! I narrowed it down to this one by...

Now I have to mention a few of the others that really caught my eye.

Wanda's lovely pink box with the lacy edge and pretty colors was so soft and feminine.

Robin entered a couple of really cute boxes. I loved the acetate box with that adorable penguin.

Janine used a red and purple combination on her box that was so stunning.

Darsie's cake box and beautiful heart image was a real beauty.

Erin created the coolest easel/gift box that was filled with my favorite Reese cups...yum!

The Navy Wife even altered a clock that was just amazing!

And there were so many other cleverly created containers...a vase, a birdhouse, heart boxes, and even a faux chocolate brownie! Thanks so much for entering all your wonderful creations! Chic of the Week #66

Thanks all for your patience with my delay in posting our Chic of the Week for our Gina K Designs sponsor week. As I mentioned, I was out of town this past week with extremely limited Internet. I have finally had a chance to review all of the entries and I must say JAW DROPPING wonderful. SO many beautiful creations - I was so impressed. I think what amazed me the most is HOW impressive all your envelopes looked. I know that was the purpose of this challenge but y'all did an amazing job making stunning envelopes. I HOPE you will continue to line your envies!! (Or at least on those really special cards).

Ok - so we had to make a choice from over 70 entries - now THAT's a hard one. After much reviewing, perusing, pondering and contemplating I am delighted to announce that this week's Chic of the Week goes to the creator of this card and envelope:

Love how Melody double lined her envelope - the contrast of the pink and black is quite striking and I just loved all the pearls on her card. Melody please contact us for your Chic of the Week badge.

A Slight Delay

Dear Jugs followers,
It's Pam here - I'm home after a week long road trip moving my son. It's been a very hard week for me emotionally and, being on the road, I have not had internet to admire and comment on all your lovely creations. Envy of the Envies (envelopes)!

Good morning JUGS fans. Today is a special day because we have a very special treat for you. Gina K Designs is sponsoring this week's technique challenge. Yipppee Skippee! It's Pam here as your hostess this week with a different kind of technique challenge for you.

This week's challenge is called Envy of the Envies (envelopes that is!) We often put a lot of work into our beautiful card creations then pop them into a plain envelope and send them off. Well, I thought this week it would be fun to put some extra effort into making those first impressions (the envelope) just as special as the card inside.

Here's the 3 part challenge

1. Make a card – no specs on this but if you have Gina K stamps we'd LOVE to see them :-)

2. Decorate your envelope to match/coordinate with your card and

3. Finally, for this challenge we also want you to create a liner for your envelope to coordinate with your card. If you don't know how to make a liner please refer to this tutorial on Stamp TV. Gina K shows you just how to do it! http://stamptv.ning.com/video/lining-your-envelopes

Be sure to show us your both card and your envelope!

We now present our Design Team gals' creations - they have worked hard to bring you some good ideas. Good Morning!

By the looks of things we all must be well rested and our mojo's rejuvenated because we surely had some beautiful cards based on this weeks sketch!  After sifting through all sixty three entries several times I finally narrowed down my top three and the Chic of the week.
