Just Us Girls #186- Photo Inspiration

Hello, Nancy here and I am thrilled to be your hostess this week for my first Photo Inspiration Challenge as part of the Design Team here at Just Us Girls.  I feel very fortunate to have landed a spot among so many talented ladies and they are sweet as can be.... to boot! :)  That is like icing on the cake!

When I realized my first challenge was going to be a photo challenge, I immediately thought of pink and black (my favs) and hopped on over to google images.  After just a couple of seconds (literally), I found these two photos that I knew would be perfect!  I picked two images so that you might have a few choices.  You may either get inspirations from the color pallet and take that route, reproduce some flowers like I have done, or you may be intrigued by the damask pattern on the purse.  You decide!

Just Us Girls #185 - Colour Challenge

 

First and foremost the JUGS Design Team wants to wish our fearless leader, Lisa, a very Happy Birthday!!!  Lisa does a lot of the behind the scenes work and we all very much appreciate what she does for us.  May you be wonderfully spoilled this weekend, Lisa, and know you are greatly appreciated and loved ((hugs))!!

With Spring and Mother's Day in the forefront of my mind, and these colours being all over my neighborhood via tulips and cherry tree blossoms, it was a shoe in for the colour combo.  I'm also paying a bit of a tribute to some of my all time favorite Stampin' Up! colours that are retiring: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery!!  Eeeek!! I can't believe it!!!  Being an avid user of flowers on my cards, I am heartbroken to hear they will be no longer be available as I use them ALL the time!!  Needless to say, I have stocked up LOL!

Chick of the Week #184

So, did you all have fun with the Ombre Technique?  I sure hope so - there was some awesome entries!

Just Us Girls #184 - Technique

A few weeks ago I heard of a trend called Ombre. Apparently, this isn't anything new, but it was to me and I have to say I love the look!

The definition of ombre is the French word for color that is shaded or graduated in tone.  An example of ombre is a color that fades from dark to light.  This is new to the Team too, and look how they persevered. (I had complete confidence)  Here are the samples:

Chickie of the week #183

Hey yall!  Happy Friday :)  Thanks so much to everyone who played along with out sketch challenge... all of the entries were FAN-tastic!!!  Choosing a Chick of the Week was so difficult, so I kinda cheated, shhhh!  I am VERY much a "thinking out of the box" kinda gal so this card by Tina Hale REALLY got to me.  Look at that valance!!!

While I do LOVE her card, these other three really caught my eye too, so I wanted to give them an "honorable mention" ...
