History of "Just Us Girls" and FAQs

A Little History
October 3, 2009 (which was, coincidentally, World Card Making Day) was the kickoff date for the BRAND NEW Just Us Girls Challenge! A few dedicated stampers have come together to present a new source of weekly inspiration and challenges for the stamping community. When we tried to come up with a name for the challenge we struggled for the right fit – and finally, at the end of a long phone conversation with no name decided, it was said, “Well I guess for this week at least, it’s just us girls – and after much laughter about the acronym THAT would create – JUGS – we decided we really liked the idea. It really is “Just Us Girls” trying to provide some fun, inspiration and challenges to keep us all doing what we love best.

The Acronym – JUGS
Although “JUGS” made us laugh, it was also observed that “Hey October IS National Breast Cancer Awareness Month” so while JUGS might be “inappropriately appropriate” for NBCAM  we mean NO disrespect with the acronym. Most of us on the team have been closely impacted by breast cancer somewhere in our lives, be it with survivors or those who did not win the battle.

Monthly Challenge Line Up
Week 1 – Sketch
Week 2 – Technique
Week 3 – Color
Week 4 – 3D/Template
Week 5 – Wild Card

Weekly Top Pick aka "Chic of the Week"
Part of our vision is to be a source of encouragement for fellow stampers, be they newbies or veterans, we ALL like to be complimented and lifted up in our work. As such, we plan to select one stamper each week from our list of qualifying participants to be our “Chic of the Week”. We will feature our "Chic of the Week" stamper on Friday’s blog post at the end of each week’s challenge – the day before a new challenge is posted. The "Chic of the Week" stamper will be given a special blinkie to post on their blog as well.

Mr. Linky
We will provide a place for you to link for each challenge and ask all participants to link DIRECTLY to the post or gallery that contains the entry for that specific challenge. Failure to link directly to your project may result in us removing you from our Inlinkz. We will be diligent in commenting on entries to each challenge. Challenge entry deadline to be considered for “Chic of the Week” will be Thursdays, 9:00 PM EST.
