Chic of the Week #22

To ALL the girls who played along with this week's Just Us Girls Template Challenge, I say thank you, merci, danke, gracias! It means so much to all of "Us Girls" that you come - and you play! We hope that means that you are having fun and that you are inspired!!! I was deeeeelighted with all the entries this week. I'm sure you know that I have a personal affinity for packaging templates and I loved all the ideas you brought to us this week. Bet you didn't know that you also inspire US!

NOW for the fun part - this week's Chic of the Week! There were SO many creative and fun entries - it's always hard to pick just one.  That's the part of the hostess' job that's hard, hard, hard! After much deliberation over the entries I finally decided on this template by Jo - The Crafty Nomad! Here's her project.

I just loved the sweet images and her color palette. I was tickled with her use of the free Cutesy Cover template and adjusting the size to meet her needs - that's what it's all about girls! I think I was also drawn to this project because of it's clean and simple style. I strive to create CAS projects and usually fail miserably *LOL*. So congrats to Jo - please contact us for your Chic of the Week badge - we hope you will "wear it" proudly on your blog.

WINNER - we have a WINNER - remember - Lauren has offered a free template to one randomly picked winner from this week's eligible entries and that winner is Laurel Beard (#1)!

Congratulations, Laurel.  Please contact us via the email link on our JUGS blog and let us know how to get a hold of you. I will need info from you to get your template to you!

Now, I want to give KUDOS and PROPS to the following entries as well. Each of these entries had something that just really caught my eye and tickled my fancy so thanks girls and congrats to you as well.  These are listed alphabetically:

Julia  - now what woman doesn't love purses and shoes? And did you see how she created Patent Leather?? Way Cool!

Lori - These sweet baby gifts and "cupcake socks" all packaged up with a personalized little hooded towel are just adorable.

Monique - I was smitten with the cute owl critters that are all dressed up for St. Patrick's Day.  The little rhinestone "earrings" on the Mrs. is a clever idea.

Rhonda - actually had two adorable entries this week but my favorite was this cake topper. I thought this was SO versatile and could be used so many ways.

Way to go girls. Again - big thanks to ALL of you who participated. Just Us Girls is just busting out with BIG smiles that we have such a dedicated group of players - you surely keep us on OUR toes and we hope we give you something new to try.

Hugs n Smiles - See you Saturday for a brand new sketch challenge!

Just Us Girls #22 - Template Time!

Hey there JUGS fans *giggle* - It's the 4th Saturday of the month so that means it's time for another template challenge. Many of us, as papercrafters, are pretty proficient at making cards and scrapbook pages 'cause that's what we do. It's SO fun to branch out once in a while and try our hand at 3 dimensional projects, specifically templates/gift packaging. Just Us Girls is very fortunate to have the "Template Queen", Lauren Meader (this is MY self-proclaimed title for Lauren) from My Time Made Easy as a sponsor for our Template Challenges. So - we challenge you - all of our AMAZING 400+ followers to try your hand THIS WEEK at a template. We would, of course, love it if you would use a My Time Made Easy template (by the way, there is a FREE one for you to try - you can get it here!) BUT we also want all of our fans to be able to participate so you may also select any template of your choosing in order to play along with us.
Lauren had a "special assignment" for the Just Us Girls Design Team this month. She challenged us to use the Under Cover template with one of the cute little critter cut files (each critter cut file is only $2.50) to make a "Critter box". Bouncing Bunny and Cute Lil Chick cut files will be available in the MTME store on March 1 - Heart Stealer Raccoon and Whooty Owl are available right now.

We do have a sweet little temptation to encourage your participation. We will draw the name of ONE lucky player who follows the requirements of the challenge this week and that winner will receive a My Time Made Easy template of their choice! Cool eh?

So without further ado - here's some inspiration from the Design Team to get you started. I will admit that I kind of got on a roll with this challenge so you'll see several critters in my post. :-)

Also - please pop over to Iwona Palamountain's blog and see her final JUGS project. She has done a fantastic job as our February Featured Designer - we are thrilled she was able to join us for the month.

Finally, if you own a Cricut machine but need the Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) software to go with it then be sure to visit CandaCraft. Canda has offered up a discount of 10% off your entire purchase. Use code JUGS315 which expires 3/15/2010. I love my SCAL software!

How to play: You need to upload your project using this week's challenge to your online blog or public photo gallery. Leave a link that goes directly to your project in the Inlinkz form at the bottom of this post. If you upload to online galleries, please also use the keyword or tag, JUGS22. After you post to Inlinkz you can come also leave a comment here.

Deadline to be considered for the weekly "Chic of the Week" will be 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, March 4. Our Inlinkz tool will also close at that time. Our top pick "Chic of the Week" will be announced on Friday morning following the deadline.

Have a great weekend - can't wait to see what you come up with. I will be around to visit each of your blogs once you post your entry.
Hugs n Smiles,
