Design Team Call with JUGS

Hey ladies - Just Us Girls is conducting a call for a new Design Team member. As you know, Tracey had to step down recently and we would like to replace that spot. If this is something you'd like to be considered for, here are a few things you need to know.

1. Each Design Team member needs to have a blog due to the nature of how we all post every week.
2. We ask you to play along with each challenge and to have your project to the hostess and your personal post ready to go by Friday night at the latest. (We know sometimes there are emergencies and that's ok.)
2. We ask each team member to host a challenge about once every 6-8 weeks. When you are the hostess you need to write up the blog post, and are ultimately responsible for choosing the Chic of the Week for your challenge week.
3. All DT girls vote on their favorite Chic of Week when we select our Featured Designer for the month.
4. We like each team member to comment on our participant's entries when possible. (Based on feedback from our participants, this is one of the main reasons JUGS has been so popular.)

Now - if that sounds like something you can handle and commit to and you are interested in being considered, here are your TWO assignments for the DT call. Please read and follow all instructions carefully.

• 1st - we want you to create a card or scrapbook layout based on the sketch we include below.

• 2nd - since we conduct a monthly 3D template (or gift package) challenge each month we want you to pick a favorite 3D template and assemble and decorate it then share it with us. There are many free ones out there if you don't have any of your own.

• 3rd - Please write up ONE blog post and include both of your projects on your post.

• 4th - Post a DIRECT LINK to that blog post with your Design Team call project to the Inlinkz form at the bottom of this post.

Inlinkz will close on Wed. May 12 at 7:00 PM EST so be sure to get your submission in before then.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. We hope to choose our new DT gal in early enough to have our new girl start with us in June.

Chic of the Week #30

Hi Everyone! Just Us Girls Week 29 - It's Color Challenge Time

Welcome to Week 29 of the JUGS Challenges! Can you believe how fast time goes by it's crazy! Already the middle of April? Anyhow, it's Maria here with your color challenge this week. Check out this beautiful bedroom which is my inspiration for this week's color challenge:

So your colors this week are lovely pastels: Lavender, Green, Pink, Yellow(optional). (Gina K Designs color reference: Innocent Pink, Lovely Lavender, Lemon Drop, Creme De Menthe). Now there is a little fun twist to this week's challenge. This week we are celebrating the birthday of one of our fabulous DT members:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!!!!

So the twist is to use the colors in the challenge and make a birthday card.

Chic of the week #28

This week's challenge was a bit different than our usual, but it's fun to mix things up every now and then! The scrapbook pages that we had turned out wonderful and it was fun to see everyone's take on the same sketch!

I chose Beth's page for the Chic of the week. It really caught my eye. Those of you that have sisters.....I don't, but if you do, read the quote on her page, it is so true! I can only relate with my good girlfriends, but can understand compeletly! Be sure to stop by Beth's blog.

Scrapbook Challenge - JUGS 28

This week I (Alicia) chose a challenge to make a scrapbook page using a very simple, yet versatile layout. I love to scrapbook so I thought we would give it a whirl here with "Just Us Girls" to see if you can get your creative juices flowing for something a little different. If you don't want to get into scrapbooking, try making a framed piece for a gift. I make frames all of the time for baby gifts and for weddings. People love to get personalized gifts. Give it a whirl and let us see what you come up with.....you might be the "Chic of the week!" Note this isn't a suggested color scheme, it's just something I came up with to make my sketch layout. I can't wait to see your creations! Feel free to flip the sketch, make a two page layout.....just as long as it is a scrapbook page then you will be considered for "Chic of the week!"

Oh my!  Let me tell you that it was HARD selecting one overall favorite this week!  You all did an AMAZING job with the sketch challenge...just beautiful work from everyone ♥  After LONG debate, I selected the talented Ms. Rosemary D's card:

Isn't this sweet?!  LOVE the beautiful color palette and the subtle, distressed edges of the white panel that backs the beautiful blue patterned paper.  That contrasting kraft paper is just lovely, as is the gorgeous flower that creates the lovely focal point of her card!  Rosemary, please email me and I will send your well deserved Chic of the Week badge!

Weird, being that I'm the hostess, right? Yes...I know.
